KidCare for Young Children is a multimedia, interactive CD product that can be used
on any personal computer. It is designed for children between the ages of 5 and 9 whose parents are going through
separation or divorce. Using a fun, age-appropriate format, the program attempts to teach children the skills needed
to cope with the changes in their family as successfully as possible. Children assume the role of an apprentice to Hank
- alovable SuperHero who helps kids from all around the sold "deal with the changes, solve problems, and get along better
with their families." In 10 missions, Hank and his apprentice try to help other kids whose parents are getting
a divorce figure out the best way to cope with common problems such as understanding what divorce really means, being
sad, missing a parent, and talking with friends and family about their feelings. By helping othr kids, children
learn to help themselves.
